A Darwin Harbour Sunset Cruise with a Difference – Sea Darwin-Sea Tiwi's Turtle Tour
Departing Stokes Hill Wharf at 4:00 pm on dates aligned with the lunar cycle, this once-in-a-lifetime adventure takes you across the turquoise waters of Darwin Harbour and beyond. With the warm breeze on your face and the salt air around you, the journey will whisk you past the historic Charles Point Lighthouse into Bynoe Harbour, arriving at the remote nesting ground of Ngulbitjlk (Bare Sand Island) in time for sunset.
On this guided experience, you'll immerse yourself in the fascinating history and environment of the island. Explore Ngulbitjik with Team Turtle, learn all about the incredible Flatback and Olive Ridley turtles that call it home, and uncover Traditional stories and wartime history.
After sunset, enjoy a delicious bento meal on board before heading back to the beach to witness one of nature’s most magical events – the nesting ritual of turtles. For late-season travelers, you may even be lucky enough to see baby turtles hatching from their sandy nests and making their way to the sea.
As twilight fades to night, the return journey to Darwin will leave you with unforgettable memories of this extraordinary experience.
