Your adventure starts on Saturday 24 August 2024 at 0900 with a fast boat ride from Darwin to Wurrumiyanga, the heart of Tiwi island life. The scenic boat ride is just a prelude to what awaits—an afternoon of rich artistic heritage of the Tiwi people and a night brimming with cultural activities, joyous celebrations and electrifying, soulful performances. Spend the night on the island, with accommodation at Mantiyupwi Motel, before transferring back to Darwin the following morning by fast boat.
Upon arrival at Bathurst Island, a warm welcome awaits, followed by a guided orientation to Wurrumiyanga, and a meet and greet with Traditional Owners. Then the afternoon is yours!
  • Art and Heritage: Explore the rich tapestry of Tiwi culture through a visit to the Tiwi Art Expo. Marvel at stunning artworks that reflect ancient traditions and contemporary interpretations.

After a night filled with festivities, retreat to the comfort of the Mantiyupwi Motel. Enjoy a peaceful night's sleep in your king single or queen bed room (limited availability). Wake up refreshed and ready for the journey back to Darwin on Sunday morning.
